Shipping Supervisor

Shipping & Receiving Manager

Position Description and Purpose:
Founded in [year], Roskam Foods produces and packages food products with the goal of consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations for quality, safety, and wholesomeness. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for managing all dock operations and directing Material Handlers to meet all shipping, receiving, and production requirements. This role ensures adherence to GMPs, Food Standards, Company Rules, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Safety:
  Enforce all elements of Food Safety requirements and ensure that Material Handlers comply with required standards.
• Operating License:
  Obtain and maintain a current operator's license in compliance with MIOSHA, and train Material Handlers/Forklift Operators as needed.
• Inspection of Trailers:
  Ensure proper inspection of trailers by Material Handlers prior to loading and unloading, including documentation. Verify trailer seals against the Bill of Lading before unloading.
• Material & Ingredient Verification:
  Review Material Handlers' paperwork to confirm that raw ingredients, WIP, and packaging materials match the item number on the bill of lading. Verify that products are within shelf life according to the Certificate of Analysis.
• Material Movement:
  Coordinate all product movements within the facility, including loading and unloading trailers. Monitor material requirements to support the production schedule. Manage all material movements, purchase order receipts, sales orders, and transfers.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Ensure Material Handlers complete daily checklists for forklifts, document properly, and verify equipment safety. Inspect forklift batteries and maintain a log on battery cell maintenance.
• Paperwork:
  Verify the accuracy of tally sheets, receiving reports, movement sheets, sales orders, and Daily Hi-lo Checklists. Ensure disposal reports and the warehouse product disposal barrel are correctly documented and emptied.

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of prior forklift experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
• Proficient in identifying, processing, and recording materials to meet the standards of the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
• Knowledge of AX system, Yard View system, and Outlook.
• Ability to act as Coordinator if needed.
