Summary:

Responsibilities include assisting the Chief Human Resources Officer on all provider contracts and assists with corporate, legal, and regulatory matters, including but not limited to:

* General contracts, third party agreements, vendor supplier relationships
* Organization policy management
* Negotiation, preparation, and management of provider contracts
* Medical Staff liaison

A. Experience, Knowledge and Skill

* Required:
*

  • Law Degree with admission to the Louisiana State Bar.
    * Three years as practicing Attorney.
    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    * Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
    * Ability to effectively present information to senior leadership.
    * Ability to respond to internal and external inquiries.
    * Handle legal projects with significant financial or other business impact.
    * Expertise in defending lawsuits, including drafting/arguing pre-trial motions, handling depositions, participating in trial with and without jury, and appealing cases.
    * Ability to work effectively and congenially with others within organization.
    * Excellent writing and analytical skills.


    * Preferred:
    *
  • Prior hospital/healthcare corporate experience.
    * Prior experience in negotiating provider contracts.
    * Prior experience with workers' compensation.
    * Minimum of 3 years medical malpractice legal experience.
    * Experience in contract law and managing contract negotiation processes.

    Responsibilities:

    Job Duties

    * Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, regulations, and other authorities as applied to organization and its operations.
    * Work with Insurance Coordinator to ensure timely and proper enrollment of organization and employed practitioners in the Patient's Compensation Fund.
    * Negotiate, prepare, and manage provider contracts and recruitment assistance agreements. Provide oversight of audit process to ensure contract and Recruitment Assistance Agreements are administered according to terms.
    * Collect and review Fair Market Value analysis and prepare contracts with Stark compliance oversight.
    * Provide assistance in administration in Medical Staff application, credentialing, management, disciplinary, and other medical staff related matters.
    * Assist the Contracts Manager in reviewing and negotiating all contracts as requested.
    * Monitor the bills proffered by the legislature and advocate on North Oaks behalf accordingly and advise and educate Senior Leadership on new laws and regulations.
    * Meet and continuously adhere to all the qualifications and standards set forth below.
    * Other general legal and organizational matters as assigned by or through the Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Financial Officer or Chief Executive Officer.
