The Weyerhaeuser Lumber Mill in Holden, LA has an immediate opening for an experienced Forklift Operator.It is an exciting time at our Weyerhaeuser Holden Lumber Mill. Our mill produces high-quality Southern Yellow Pine lumber used for residential construction throughout the Southern and Eastern USA. We have a reputation for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvementThe Forklift Operator hourly rate of pay is $20.11 per hour.We also offer a very competitive benefits package, 401K plan, vacation and holidays.This role also offers a $1,000 hiring bonus!*Key Functions:** Safely operates the forklift to move lumber* Services the forklift as needed* Conducts and documents pre-shift inspections on forklift before use* Total commitment to working safely and following all company/site rules and regulations* Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area* Responsible for safe operation of equipment in assigned area* Feeding or placing items onto equipment for processing or removing items after processing* Interpreting work instructions and successfully completing tasks as delegated* Safe start up and shut down of equipment in assigned area of responsibility* High school diploma or equivalent* 1-2 years of prior forklift experience* Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviors and practices, as well as all company policies and procedures* Previous experience in an industrial environment preferred* Strong verbal and written communication skills* Basic math computer skills* Able to perform all essential job functions of an industrial environment, including lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climbing steps/ladders, working from heights, standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours or more, working in extreme temperatures, dust, and noise while wearing all safety equipment* Flexible with schedule and able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed*About Wood Products:*Weyerhaeuser Wood Products is leading the world's softwood lumber market with innovative products, systems, and services for use in a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial applications worldwide.
