Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture from adult, pediatric and neonatal patients employing proper patient identification and infection control measures. Performs chain of custody drug screen collections. Accurately performs waived and/or moderate complexity testing using appropriate method and/or instruments. Enters test requests into the laboratory computer system. Performs other support duties such as answering the phone, handling questions from medical/hospital staff, ordering supplies, and investigating discrepant patient orders. Complies with organizations C. A. R. E. S. standards. Minimum Qualifications:Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service skills. Experience preferred, but will accept candidate requiring in-house training. Current Louisiana license as a Laboratory Assistant or must obtain within 12 months.
