Responsibilities of a Substitute Teacher

* Provide quality instruction to students on behalf of the permanent teacher in assigned classroom(s)

* Implement effective routines, procedures, and lesson plans on behalf of the permanent teacher

* Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment

* Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration or designee

* Perform other duties as directed by school administration or designee

Qualifications

* Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)

* Must submit to and clear a criminal background check

* High school diploma or GED required

* Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application submission

* Some college hours or college degree preferred
