Identify items on bill of material listed on sketch. Pull items to table, verify items match what is listed on the sketch and fabricate per detail following Job Instruction Sheet and Weld Procedure Sheet.
Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Works in conjunction with other departments (Cutting operations and bay pulling) to ensure all relative materials are properly staged and ready for fabrication.
Lay out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions. Bolts, clamps, and welds together metal components of products, such as piping systems, plate, pipe and tube or structural shapes.
May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, or portable grinder.
Remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using hand held grinder or gas torch, hand scrapper, grinder, or power chipper.
Preheat work piece, using hand torch.
Cut metal plates or structural shapes.
Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
