Overview

Transportation Supervisor role at Medline Industries, LP. Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the assigned MedTrans fleet including proper maintenance and the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and drivers. Ensure compliance with all state Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize daily routes and activities based on branch and fleet workloads as well as available customer order information.
  • Ensure all drivers are properly trained according to MedTrans requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained in accordance with the MedTrans vehicle maintenance policy.
  • Recruit, hire, train and discipline all drivers. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with drivers as required by DOT and/or company policy.
  • Lead day-to-day activities of employees. Assign, monitor and review progress and accuracy of work; direct efforts and provide technical guidance on more complex issues.

Qualifications

  • Educational: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience managing and dispatching drivers and use of routing software.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience coaching, mentoring and training staff.
  • Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge of Transportation Costing and Motor Carrier Operations.
  • Technical skills: Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (descriptions provided in original).
  • Physical: Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily; able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs; able to stand for 8 hours per day for up to 6 days a week.

Compensation and Benefits

Medline Industries, LP offers a competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and potential with a growing worldwide organization. The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,320.00 - $87,360.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average. For roles with fewer than 30 hours, benefits include 401(k) contributions and access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
