Physician Primary Care – Northshore (Covington)

Join LCMC Health as a Physician in our Primary Care practice located on the Northshore in Covington, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care and treatment to patients, conducting routine examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and prescribing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Offer consultations and medical supervision to clinical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with medical and school guidelines.
  • Maintain patient and business records, completing daily patient encounters and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Monitor patients for signs of abuse or neglect and report promptly in accordance with policy.
  • Recognize emergencies and respond appropriately following organizational protocols.
  • Participate in a physician call schedule, balancing patient access and meeting slots.
  • Assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement standard and transmission-based precautions, ensuring patient safety during clinic visits.
  • Report safety hazards or violations to the clinic manager or designated authority.
  • If applicable, fulfill Medical Director duties such as ensuring provider compliance, communicating provider concerns, and developing work and call schedules.

Qualifications

  • Completed residency training.

Education

  • Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy.

Licenses and Certifications

  • American Heart Association: Basic Life Support – HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • Medical Physician Licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
