We have an exciting opportunity for a contracts professional to join the Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) program within Ship Systems Integration and Sustainment (SSIS) portfolio within the Naval Power Strategic Business Unit. This is a non-supervisory, experienced individual contributor position who will support and have oversight for the CIWS Sustainment portfolio, providing systems and repair and spare items applicable to, and in support of, the MK-15 Close in Weapon System (CIWS) to our US Navy customers. The primary customers are Naval Systems Support Command (NAVSUP) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
The position is well suited for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The Principal Specialist is responsible for providing guidance on contractual terms and conditions, risk assessment and mitigating solutions, best practices, and policy compliance. In this role, you will work closely with the Program Managers, Estimating & Pricing, Business Finance, Operations and Supply Chain functions to construct, submit, and negotiate price proposals; provide support to senior management regarding contractual and business issues; ensure that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies; and advise management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work independently to solve complex contractual issues. You must be able to navigate a variety of customer relationships with people awareness and social adaptability. Time management is crucial as you will have competing priorities and must answer to your team and to your customer with prompt and informed interchanges. Domestic travel is required, approx. 10%.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
