Prefer 3-5 years previous supervisory experience in Security field or customer service
Specialized or Technical Education Required:
Must attain IAHSS Basic and Supervisor certification within 3 months of hire into position.
Incumbent will be trained as required, attend in-services and meetings as required
Must exhibit excellent communication skills (oral and written)
Must possess the ability to think on one's feet and make quick decisions
Knowledge of restraining, handcuffing, State and Federal criminal codes, universal precautions, PPE, MOAB, etc

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
1. Briefs Security officers on upcoming shift activity
2. Monitors and trains staff
3. Responsible for monitoring the electronic surveillance equipment
4. Responsible for proximity access control system
5. Conducting and completing Risk Assessments
6. Performing annual evaluations of staff
7. Responsible for initial evaluation training development and written compliance exam
8. Responsible for monitoring required license and certificates per job qualifications
9. Additions and deletions to employee access shall be monitored by termination data and/or manager above written request via email
10. Will develop and administer quarterly competency reviews
11. Monitor recertification in required courses
12. Conduct interviews with applicants and make recommendations to Security Manager
13. Inspects uniforms and notes any discrepancies
14. Gives officers post assignments and schedule for meals/breaks
15. Inspects radios for operation problems
16. Interacts with Nursing Supervisor to resolve problems
17. Inspects security equipment and video surveillance equipment and reports problems to Security Manager
18. Supervises work of Security Lieutenants, Sergeants, Officers, Dispatchers and resolves any shift problems or conflicts
19. Is responsible for scheduling adequate staff daily
20. Is flexible and able to work when shifts are short of personnel
21. Is responsible for the preparation of monthly shift schedules
22. Reviews shift reports and follows up with officers to ensure compliance with shift requirements
23. Along with the Security Director and/or Security Manager, counsels security personnel monthly to keep lines of communication open and to provide security personnel with opportunities to discuss issues and concerns
24. Participates in formal disciplinary actions against security personnel
25. Participates in training programs as directed by the Security Director and/or Security Manager
26. Completes reports as requested in a timely manner
27. Recommends operational improvements to the Security Director and/or Security Manager
28. Attends meetings and conducts in-services as directed
29. Conducts security patrols and other duties in rotation with officers on each shift
30. Monitors security forms and equipment inventory to ensure that sufficient quantities are available
31. Is open and accessible to personnel under his/her supervision
32. Fairly/consistently enforces all hospital and departmental policies and procedures
33. Sets a positive example for personnel to follow

43. Supervises after hour courier functions

46. Ensures reports are written in a timely manner and proper follow-up conducted
47. Ensures vehicle maintenance checklist is completed and deficiencies reported and/or corrected
