Probation And Parole Officer 1/2/3-Juvenile

The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking dedicated and empathetic individuals to join our team as Probation and Parole Officers-Juvenile. This role plays a critical part in promoting public safety, reducing recidivism, and supporting the successful rehabilitation of justice-involved youth through professional supervision, guidance, and intervention strategies. This position is responsible for collaborating closely with judges, law enforcement agencies, and community-based organizations to provide services and supervision for juveniles.

Minimum qualifications include three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement; OR three years of continuous active military duty (all Military Occupational Specialties apply); OR six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor's degree. Experience substitution is available for college credits.

Necessary special requirements include a current Louisiana driver's license and willingness to handle and carry firearms. Applicants must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c). Compensation varies by level:

  • Probation and Parole Officer 1 Juvenile: $1,590.40 biweekly
  • Probation and Parole Officer 2 Juvenile: $1,701.60 biweekly
  • Probation and Parole Officer 3 Juvenile: $2,084.80 biweekly
