Job Summary/Objective

This position ispivotal in driving operational success by providing leadership and operational oversight within the assigned production unit. The Unit Supervisor will guide shift crew managers and their teams to adhere to best practices in various operational areas, ensuring optimal productivity and safety.

  • Ensure compliance with planning and scheduling.
  • Support permitting processes when necessary.
  • Enhance productivity and efficiency across all departments.
  • Track and improve residual life metrics.
  • Support daily management systems and tracking.
  • Manage safety systems, including daily walks, MSHA compliance, workplace exams, hazard identification, and JHS committee actions.
  • Monitor open reliability issues and drive necessary follow-ups.
  • Provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Act as the unit manager when required.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Foster employee development through coaching, training, and mentoring with HR collaboration.
  • Compile trend reports on operational activities and establish corrective actions to ensure compliance, which may include training, auditing, and process modifications.

  • Identifies and adopts best-in-class practices to support Manufacturing Excellence principles.
  • Monitors compliance with labor agreements and company policies.
  • Integrates Process Safety and Risk Management principles into daily operations.

Education/Training Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in a major Chemical Process Facility, familiar with unit operations such as reactors and heat interchange, and possess supervisory experience across various roles.
  • Experience in a union-represented environment is a plus but not required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Operations/Production within an industrial/manufacturing setup.
  • At least 4 years of supervisory and management experience.
