This fast-paced, multi-functional role provides vital administrative and clerical support within the Tangipahoa Parish Health Unit(s) and across Region 9. The position supports a wide range of public health services, including Reproductive Health, Immunizations, Tuberculosis (TB), WIC, Children's Special Health Services, Genetics, and Vital Records. The incumbent works directly with clients using electronic health record systems, assists with eligibility screening, insurance verification, fee collection, and serves as a key point of contact at the front desk. This role offers variety, teamwork, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community health, with occasional regional travel and participation in emergency preparedness and public health response activities.

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information: Performs clerical and administrative support duties primarily at the Tangipahoa Parish Health Unit(s), with assignments as needed at other parish health units within Region 9. Supports the delivery of personal health services, including Reproductive Health, Immunizations, Tuberculosis (TB), WIC, Children's Special Health Services (CSHS), Genetics, and Vital Records. Uses basic to intermediate computer skills to enter, retrieve, and maintain client information across multiple electronic health record systems. Conducts eligibility screening, insurance verification, fee collection, and maintains accurate documentation in electronic health records. Provides front desk and customer service support by answering phones and inquiries, scheduling appointments, making reminder calls, and filing medical records. Responds to public health emergencies when directed, including participation in emergency preparedness drills and assignments at Medical Needs Shelters or Points of Dispensing, with occasional regional travel as required.
