Description
POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for recording and posting vendor invoices to appropriate cost centers, manages accounts to ensure timely payment, and assisting with payroll processing.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to coding and posting for payment.
• Process checks, match invoices to checks, obtain appropriate signatures for checks, and distribute accordingly.
• Contact vendors regarding incorrect invoices.
• Respond to all vendor inquiries.
• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
• Manage accounts to ensure payments are received in a timely manner.
• Maintain time for TPSO Deputies and submit for payroll bi-weekly.
• Provide requested information for year-end audits.
• Form-1099 maintenance and processing.
• Assist with maintaining contract management system.
• Assist with preparations for payroll processing.
• Assist with other projects as needed.
• High degree of confidentiality is required.
• Follow Hood Memorial Hospital's Compliance Program and Federal and State guidelines.
Requirements
FACTORS RELATING TO JOB
Experience, Knowledge and Skill
Previous Experience Required:
• One (1) year of experience in accounts payable.
• General knowledge of accounts payable.
• Must possess knowledge of computer programs.
Specialized or Technical Education Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attend in-services, workshops, conferences, and seminars as directed by Administration.
Manual or Physical Skill Required:
• Ability to communicate with vendors, hospital staff, and Administration.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and able to maintain numerous projects at one time.
• This position requires an individual to be a quick learner and a conscientious worker.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch
• Must have good written and oral communication skills, long-term memory, sound judgment, reasoning ability, and logical / mathematical deductive reasoning.
• Must be able to maintain good judgment, reasoning skills and professional manner in stressful situations.
