Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Energy Marshall Superintendent to oversee the control and coordination of all electrical energization activities on mission-critical data center construction projects. This role is essential to ensuring energized systems are safely managed, turned over, and commissioned in alignment with project timelines and client requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong electrical background, field leadership experience, and deep familiarity with data center environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary authority for managing electrical energy and lockout/tagout (LOTO) during construction, commissioning, and early operations phases.
  • Coordinate energization plans with electrical contractors, commissioning agents, QA/QC, and safety teams.
  • Review and approve all LOTO procedures, energy isolation plans, and energized work permits.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and logs of all energized systems, switching sequences, and energy zones.
  • Ensure all workers comply with NFPA 70E, OSHA, and project specific electrical safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project controls and scheduling teams to align energization with milestone dates.
  • Conduct field walks, inspections, and readiness reviews for equipment start-up and energization activities.
  • Interface with client representatives and electrical engineers on system status, turnover, and energization risk management.
  • Lead and support daily coordination meetings to discuss upcoming energization events, risks, and safety considerations.
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis for any electrical events or near misses.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years if electrical experience in industrial or commercial construction; 3+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Prior experience managing energized systems or data center, utility, or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of electrical one-line diagrams, switching procedures, and power distribution systems(MV/LV)
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site specific energy control plans.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, enforce safety standards, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
  • Familiar with construction scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) and document control systems (Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam).
  • High school diploma or GED required: technical training or electrician license preferred.
