Job Summary

As an IHOP server, your primary responsibility will be to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. You'll engage with customers, take precise orders, serve food and beverages promptly, and manage multiple tables with efficiency. Above all, your goal is to deliver outstanding customer service, handle payments, maintain cleanliness, and uphold IHOP's policies and safety standards, ensuring a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and seat customers with a friendly demeanor.
  • Present menus and provide detailed explanations of menu items.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders from customers.
  • Communicate any special requests and dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of orders to tables.
  • Refill beverages and attend to guests' needs throughout their meal.
  • Recommend additional menu items and upsell daily specials.
  • Present bills, process payments, and handle change or receipts.
  • Efficiently clear and clean tables, restocking as needed.
  • Set tables with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments.
  • Professionally address customer concerns and complaints.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff, hosts/hostesses, and fellow servers for seamless service.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines rigorously.
  • Adhere to IHOP's policies and procedures diligently.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to enhance customer service.
  • A friendly and welcoming attitude toward guests.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and manage heavy trays efficiently.
  • Good comprehension of the restaurant's menu, including ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Expertise in taking orders accurately and conveying them to the kitchen.
  • Strong multitasking abilities to manage multiple tables simultaneously.
  • Collaborative spirit to work well with kitchen staff and fellow servers.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
