What You'll Do
Lead a Winning Team on Your Shift
- Foster a cheerful, can-do attitude that inspires your team
- Provide clear guidance and assist with food service, stocking, cleaning, or cash handling as needed
- Coach team members in real-time, offering support and feedback during every shift
- Address guest concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating when necessary
Drive Operational Excellence
- Train and supervise your team to meet RaceTrac's guest service, food safety, and cleanliness standards
- Ensure accurate inventory management, vendor check-in, and promotional communication
- Oversee essential store processes including write-offs, cash handling, and compliance documentation
- Lead shift change communication to ensure team alignment throughout the day
Model Communication & Accountability
- Relay important updates from management to shift associates effectively
- Monitor task completion and provide immediate feedback to drive outcomes
- Champion a team culture rooted in accountability, respect, and collaboration
- Proactively assist during busy periods or challenges, demonstrating exemplary leadership

What We're Looking For
- 2 - 3 years of experience in retail, restaurant, or food service (preferred)
- 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
- Comfort in fast-paced, high-volume, guest-focused environments
- Ability to follow through on tasks and coach others to do the same
- Strong communication and team-building skills
Must Haves for this Role
- High School Diploma or GED (completed or in progress)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks without frequent breaks
- Willingness to obtain and maintain necessary permits (food handlers, alcohol server, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  • Greets and interacts genuinely with both new and regular guests, suggesting complementary products to enhance their experience.
  • Manages store operations during designated shifts.
  • Maintains inventory in an organized and tidy manner.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and courteous service.
  • Fosters professional relationships with co-workers and guests, communicating respectfully while maintaining a team-oriented attitude.
  • Addresses any employee or guest concerns during shifts.

People:

  • Exemplifies RaceTrac's Core Values, Leadership Qualities, and the RaceTrac Way to the entire team.
  • Oversees, coaches, trains, and develops store team members.
  • Directs, plans, and allocates work for store team members during designated shifts.

Clean, Safe, Fast & Full:

  • Supervises adherence to all safety-related regulations, including food safety standards.
  • Participates in daily store operations as needed, including:
    • Handling transactions at the cash register
    • Ensuring the store is clean and well-maintained
    • Stocking shelves, coolers, and conducting inventory checks.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks, including bending, standing, and reaching, throughout the job, with limited breaks.
