Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hiring a Southern Region Area Supervisor in the Division of Internal Services to plan, direct, administer and supervise Real Estate Program operations within the thirty-six county Facilities and Lands Southern Region. This position and the staff it supervises work in a fast-paced environment supporting a wide range of real estate topics, offering variety of work day to day.
This position may be stationed out of the DNR offices in Madison, Green Bay, Wautoma, Milwaukee or Wisconsin Rapids, depending on space availability and the location of the selected candidate.

Position Summary
This position has the responsibility to interpret policy and exercise discretion in applying procedures. This position works closely with the Northern Region Area Supervisor to provide statewide expertise to all statewide land agents. It is responsible for ensuring the consistent application and implementation of all Department Real Estate Program policies and procedures, as well as Wisconsin Real Estate Law. The position manages relationships with key external partners and internal customers and is charged with assuring that department performance, accomplishments, standards, and objectives are met. The position is responsible for developing, directing, managing, training, coaching, and supporting all land agent staff within the Southern Region.

Salary Information
Starting pay for this position is between $37.00 to $42.00 per hour (or $76,960 to $87,360 annually), in addition to excellent benefits. This position is included in the classification Real Estate Supervisor within Pay Schedule/Range 81-03.

This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. Pay on appointment will follow the provisions of the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

Required qualifications include experience in ALL the following criteria: - Real Estate experience, including experience with laws, codes and/or statutes
- Experience with conveyed easements, land sales, land acquisitions, deeds, legal descriptions and/or title insurance
- Experience conducting various types of appraisals, opinions of value and/or appraisal reviews
In addition, preferred qualifications include experience with any of the following criteria: - Supervising and/or leading a team (e.g., delegating tasks, setting agendas, establishing employee objectives, coaching/training staff, conducting employee evaluations, etc.)
- Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Degree, professional experience or training in Natural Resource Management
- Real Estate license
