Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) is the state's leading provider of sexual and reproductive health care, nationally recognized for education and research. Our mission: ensure everyone in Massachusetts has access to compassionate, judgment-free care and education. We operate four health centers and offer telehealth statewide as part of a network of 600 Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Bilingual Community Health Educator (BCHE) to deliver comprehensive sexuality education to parents, caregivers, and youth in both English and Spanish. This role is central to empowering families to become the primary sexuality educators of their children and is funded through the Department of Public Health's Adolescent Sexuality Education (ASE) grant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate sexuality education workshops (e.g., Let's Be Honest/Seamos Honestos, Get Real, VOICES).
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and host sites.
- Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, data collection, and evaluation.
- Collaborate on curriculum development, events, and outreach.
- Translate and adapt educational materials to ensure cultural relevance.
- Represent PPLM at community events and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to digital content and internal reporting.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience teaching or facilitating in high school or community settings.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Strong facilitation and public speaking skills (in-person and virtual).
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel across Massachusetts.
- Availability for evening and occasional weekend work.
- Familiarity with local community organizations and cultural contexts.
- Experience in sexual health education and adult learning preferred.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and addressing systemic oppression in health care.
$24.63 - $24.63 an hour
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Based on a 37.5 hour work week.
