Job Title: Software Engineer/Systems Analyst
Job Description: Preferred Office Location: We are currently looking for an engineer focused on:
• Developing Java services and/or Angular web app development as part of an overall design and architecture.
• Working as a team member of an agile product delivery team focused on developing products to help our corporate marketing and sales teams meet their goals.
• Collaborating with other team members in advancing modern software development principles and practices that support a DevOps environment.
• The desire to teach and learn while maintaining humility and teamwork.
• Owning the continuous improvement in yourself, your team, and the solutions you build.
• Having a bias toward action.
• Working with remote teammates and customers (either work from home or other SFG offices)
• Working within a culture that demonstrates accountability, integrity, openness, and respect Des Moines or Sioux Falls; Open to remote
Desired Skill Years of Experience Ideal candidates would have:
• Experience writing Angular applications
• Experience writing applications that consume REST services
• Experience in Java and Spring Boot
• Understanding and passion for quality and modern testing techniques.
• Experience with Liferay DXP a plus.
• Experience writing automated unit and integration/behavioral tests (e.g. Gherkin, etc)
• minimum of four (5)+ years of development experience
• Demonstrated software development coaching is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment. Product over project thinking/experience is a plus.
• Willingness to experiment and feel comfortable with the unknown.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work and communicate with a variety of personalities and across locations
• Proven ability to research, analyze, and resolve problem situations using strong judgement and high level decision making skills
• Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work both independently and with others 5+ years' experience in developing Java services and Angular applications in a DevOps environment
