A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work in a 36-bed progressive care unit (5W MEDICINE 610) • Day shift staffed with charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, and 1-2 sitters • Current ratios: Day RN 1:5/6 patients • Night shift staffed with charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, and 1-2 sitters • Current ratios: Night RN 1:6/7 patients • Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shift on night shift) • Prepare patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Operating Room procedures • Work with medical remote telemetry monitoring, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), and VC150s in every patient room • Use work stations on wheels and Tap and Go computer/documentation access • Document using Cerner EMR system • Float to Medical-Surgical units: 3W, 5W, K8 (sister units) • Dress code requires navy blue scrubs (top and bottom), white top with navy bottom, or all white • Required certifications: BLS • Preferred: Medical Telemetry experience, Leadership experience, Charge Nurse experience, BSN • CMSRN certification encouraged • Must be hard-working, compassionate, team-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment Facility: This flagship hospital is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center for specialized services including the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
