Description:

Senior Software Engineer - Build AI-Powered eCommerce

At RevolutionParts, we're building the AI powered technology behind how automotive parts are bought and sold online - at real scale, with real complexity, and real impact.

Our platform powers eCommerce for thousands of dealerships, handling massive product catalogs, real-time inventory, complex pricing rules, and high-volume order processing. As we grow, we're rethinking how our systems scale, how our data flows, and how fast our teams can ship - and that's where you come in.

This role is for engineers who enjoy solving hard, real-world problems, not just writing code in isolation.

What You'll Actually Work On

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll:

  • Own and evolve backend systems that directly impact revenue, conversion, and customer experience
  • Design and scale services that support millions of SKUs, dealer-specific business rules, and real-time inventory updates
  • Tackle performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in a growing SaaS platform
  • Work across the full lifecycle - from system design and implementation to production monitoring and iteration
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Data, and other engineers to shape solutions end-to-end
  • Simplify complex systems, reduce technical debt, and raise the overall engineering bar
  • Explore and help introduce smarter automation and AI-powered workflows where they make sense
Why This Role Is Challenging (and Fun)
  • You'll work with messy, real data - not toy problems
  • You'll design systems under real constraints: scale, performance, reliability, and business rules
  • You'll have ownership, not just tickets - your decisions will ship and live in production
  • You'll help modernize and improve an existing platform while continuing to deliver value quickly
  • You'll influence how we build, not just what we build
Who Thrives Here

You'll do well in this role if you:
  • Enjoy breaking down complex systems and making them simpler and more scalable
  • Care deeply about clean architecture, performance, and reliability
  • Want real ownership and accountability for production systems
  • Like collaborating across disciplines instead of working in a silo
  • Are curious, pragmatic, and excited to keep learning as the platform evolves
Please note: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor employment-based visas at this time.

Why RevolutionParts
  • Real product, real customers, real scale
  • High impact work without big-company bureaucracy
  • A team that values clarity, ownership, and thoughtful engineering
  • The opportunity to shape the future of an AI platform that powers real commerce every day
Requirements
  • You're not afraid to learn new technologies and attempt problems you haven't faced before.
  • You have a Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Someone with 5-10+ years of experience and hungry for new challenges.
  • You have experience designing APIs (internal or external) and high-availability systems.
  • You design data schemas and implement database solutions (SQL and/or NoSQL) in your sleep.
  • You have strong experience with one or more modern languages. We primarily use Go, PHP, and JavaScript.
  • It's helpful if you're comfortable building and deploying applications using modern cloud technologies (especially AWS), building and CI/CD tools (Github, docker, k8s), observability (NewRelic APM, DataDog, Elasticsearch), and are an evangelist for automated testing (especially unit and integration tests).
  • You're confident but not egotistical.

Are you not sure you meet 100% of the qualifications? You should still give it a try! Research shows that men will apply to a job when only meeting 60% of the requirements, whereas members of underrepresented groups typically only apply when they meet every single requirement. At RevolutionParts, we are Revolutionaries. We build tools, products, and our people. We value diversity in backgrounds and thought, so take a shot and apply! Please highlight some of your accomplishments in your resume and cover letter so we can talk about how you can grow with us.
