Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. We're currently seeking a Respiratory Care Therapist 1/2 (Registered) to join our Respiratory Department t o provide respiratory care procedures to patients .

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license and accreditation with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Receive, verify, and administer physician's prescriptions. Obtain requisitions and place appropriate information on them.

  • Perform all Pulmonary Function Tests ordered by physicians on patients

  • Perform EKG's and assist with EKG's in the absence of EKG Technicians

  • Attend educational in-services and mandatory trainings.

Position-Specific Details:

Work Location: The Respiratory Care Therapist 1/2 (Registered) position is located in the Respiratory Department.

Shift: Shift will be determined by Manager/ Supervisor.

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Respiratory Care Therapist 1 (Registered) to Respiratory Care Therapist 2 (Registered) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Please refer to the Job Specifications' tab located at the top of the LA Careers Current Job Opportunities' page of the Civil Service website for specific information on salary ranges, minimum qualifications and job concepts for each level.

Compensation: Salary depends on qualifications.

Additional Pay (received in addition to base pay above for every worked)

  • Shift 2 -- $2/hour

  • Shift 3 -- $2.50/hour

  • Weekends -- $2.50/hour

  • Holidays -- $2.50/hour

The incumbent shall possess and maintain a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
