Description:

Embark on an exciting career in emergency medical services as an Emergency Medical Responder! Acadian Ambulance Service is proud to present a unique chance for you to initiate your career with our paid training program, lasting just 10 days!

As an Emergency Medical Responder Trainee, you will engage in a fast-paced training curriculum from Monday to Friday for 10 days. Once chosen for this incredible training opportunity, you will become a full-time employee of Acadian Ambulance Service. We cover your tuition, books, and fees in exchange for your commitment to work as an EMR for one year after completing the course and successfully passing the certification exam.

Training Program Highlights:

  • Intensive curriculum from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Duration: Approximately 10 days.
  • Location: To be determined.
  • Employment in class is contingent upon satisfactory results from a drug screen, background check, and physical lift test.
  • A valid Louisiana Class D chauffeur's driver's license is required to work as an EMR.
  • Tuition is fully covered with a commitment to a one-year term as an EMR with Acadian Ambulance. Should you withdraw from the program, applicable course charges will apply.
  • As a Trainee, you will earn $11/hr. during training, with immediate termination of employment if you fail to pass the class.
  • Upon completing the course and obtaining your certification, your pay will increase to $13.50/hr. with plenty of overtime opportunities available.
  • Career advancement options include EMT, Paramedic, Air Med, EMS educator, EMS leadership, or remote paramedicine with one of the most respected ambulance services in the U.S.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Current and valid state-issued driver's license, equivalent to a Louisiana Class D.
