As part of ourcommitment to excellence, we areseeking a skilled and passionate ChefSupervisor to join our culinary team.

Responsibilities:

1. CulinaryLeadership:

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen staff toensure a high standard of culinary excellence.
  • Develop and implement creative andwell-balanced menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of Christwood's residents.

2. MealPreparation and Presentation:
  • Oversee the preparation and presentationof meals, ensuring they meet quality and nutritional standards.
  • Monitor portion control and maintainconsistency in taste, texture, and appearance.

3. QualityControl:
  • Implement and enforce health and safetystandards in the kitchen.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensurecompliance with sanitation regulations and guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaboratewith procurement to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.

4. StaffTraining and Development:
  • Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staffto enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative workenvironment, encouraging teamwork and open communication.

5. ResidentInteraction:
  • Collaborate with the dining services teamto gather resident feedback and incorporate preferences into menu planning.
  • Address resident concerns or specialdietary requirements with professionalism and sensitivity.

6.Administrative Duties:
  • Assist in budget management, cost control,and financial reporting related to the kitchen operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory,orders, and kitchen expenses.

Requirements:

1. CulinaryQualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chefin a senior living community or similar environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalentcertification preferred.
  • Current SERV Safe Food Manager Certification.

2. LeadershipSkills:
  • Strong leadership and management skillswith the ability to inspire and guide a diverse kitchen team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitaskingabilities.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in the administration of food services systems.

3. Creativityand Adaptability:
  • Ability to create diverse and appealingmenus while accommodating dietary restrictions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing residentpreferences and seasonal ingredients.

4. Health andSafety:
  • Knowledge of and commitment to maintaininghigh health and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Familiarity with regulations related tofood handling and sanitation.

5.Communication:
  • Excellent communication skills, bothverbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with residents, staff,and families with empathy and professionalism.
