This role interfaces across engineering, reliability, and operations teams to diagnose, resolve, and prevent system incidents – ensuring maximum system uptime and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).This role also serves as the designated Payload Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) within operations. They will provide technical ownership, lifecycle oversight, and performance accountability for assigned payload hardware.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Support monitoring and analysis of Gateway and Payload system performanceAssist with troubleshooting and resolution of operational incidents and service interruptionsWork with engineering, reliability, and operations teams to analyze operational data and identify performance improvementsSupport installation, integration, testing, and verification of new Payload systemsHelp maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational guidesLead in proactive system performance tracking and reporting for Payload systemsAssist with software validation and product testing activitiesLead root cause analysis and corrective action recommendationsParticipate in cross‑training initiatives and technical knowledge sharingSupport a shared on‑call rotation as experience and training progressSkills and Competencies:Familiarity with RF Test equipmentStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team‑based environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of managementExcellent organizational skills with attention‑to‑detailAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentAbility to effectively manage time and prioritize tasksAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityProficiency with Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with NetSuiteEducation, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical disciplineFoundational understanding of RF principles and satellite communications conceptsAbility to interpret technical data and documentationWillingness to learn and develop technical expertise in satellite systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in RF, satellite communications, aerospace, or telecommunicationsFamiliarity with Linux‑based operating systemsExperience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar)Knowledge of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) or FPGA conceptsPhysical Requirements:Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (valid passport required)Participation in a shared on‑call schedule after initial training periodWillingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as neededAbility to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)Ability to operate the equipment used for the jobAbility to lift 15 pounds at timesReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this jobMarginal Functions:A review of this job description may have omitted some of the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of the job duties and responsibilities.
