Landfill Spotter

The Landfill Spotter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials and guiding customers safely in the landfill.

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles prepping for the Equipment Operator.
• Direct customers where to safely dump their debris at the landfill.
• Pull metal and lead items from piles being disposed.
• Monitor piles to ensure they are the appropriate size.
• Remove items that can be recycled and are not acceptable for disposal at the landfill.
• Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guideline for operating and maintaining equipment.
• Report any worker-public safety factors.
• Attend weekly/monthly safety/operations meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

• Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.
• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

• Ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignments.

Push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, climbing steps, and overhead reaching. Walking, jogging, twisting, crouching, lifting. Sufficient stamina for steady work pace throughout the day. Ability to utilize all Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by company.

Works in a variety of environment conditions, including wide temperature and extreme weather variations, wind; noise and vibrations, fumes, odors and dust.
