This position is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding the dealership's reputation for excellence.Essential DutiesPerforms work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standardsDiagnoses cause most malfunctions and perform repairs per OEM guidelinesCommunicates with parts department to obtain needed partsSaves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customerExamines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommendedCommunicates with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeDocuments all work performed and recommended on the repair orderSupervises work of any apprentice technician as assignedReports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisorMaintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manualsOperates all tools and equipment in a safe mannerAttends and completes all company training as assignedMaintains 85% efficiency or higherOther duties as assignedQualificationsDegree from an accredited Diesel school; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceOEM Certifications PreferredMust have a valid Driver License (CDL Preferred)Work EnvironmentThe employees will be exposed to moving parts and electrical current. This position will also have employees exposed to grease, chemicals, dust, and dirt. Employees must also be able to lift at least 50 pounds and require the employee to frequently work in a crouched position or lying on the back, on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicles. Employee is required to reach and work overhead approximately 40% of the time.
