Job Summary
TheManager, Financial Operations Programsis responsible for the oversight, governance, and optimization of the Shared Services Financial Operations portfolio, including theSupplementalLabor ProgramandTravel & Expense Programs(One Card and Storm Logistics Card).
This role provides strategic leadership across the full program lifecycle, ensuring programs align with organizational objectives while delivering measurable improvements in operational efficiency, customer experience, cost savings, compliance, and risk mitigation.
As the leader responsible for these enterprise programs, the Manager oversees program strategy, governance, performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The role is also accountable for designing, documenting, implementing, and testing internal controls that mitigate operational, financial, compliance, and fraud risks.
Reporting to theDirector, Finance Operations, this position serves as a key leader within the Finance Operations organization, developing high-performing teams while driving innovation and delivering exceptional service to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team responsible for daily program operations.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Manage day-to-day team activities, including:
Operational support
Timesheet approvals
Expense report approvals
Performance management
Employee coaching
Career development
Succession planning
Model leadership behaviors that promote trust, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration.
2. Operational Governance & Risk Management
Establish and maintain effective governance across all assigned programs.
Design, document, implement, and periodically test internal controls to ensure:
Regulatory compliance
Financial accuracy
Operational integrity
Fraud prevention
Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate operational and compliance risks.
Develop and interpret policies, standards, and operating procedures.
Oversee:
Contract administration
Compliance monitoring
Financial systems optimization
Fraud prevention initiatives
3. Program Strategy & Ownership
Own the strategic direction, governance, performance, and execution of the Financial Operations program portfolio.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives that improve:
Operational efficiency
Customer experience
Cost effectiveness
Risk management
Drive continuous improvements through technology, automation, analytics, and process optimization.
Oversee enterprise systems supporting assigned programs.
Use data and performance metrics to guide business decisions.
Manage vendor relationships and partner with Procurement to:
Negotiate contracts
Monitor vendor performance
Ensure contractual compliance
Maximize organizational value
4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement new products, services, technologies, and operational processes that improve business performance.
Evaluate emerging opportunities that expand the Finance Operations service portfolio.
Lead initiatives that increase program maturity, scalability, efficiency, and customer value.
Champion continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence across all assigned programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Auditing, or a related field.
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience
Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in Financial Operations, Accounting, Finance, or related business functions.
Three (3) or more years of leadership or people management experience.
