Immediate need for a talented Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in U.S (Remote).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform concurrent and retrospective inpatient chart reviews
Review provider documentation for completeness and accuracy
Assign and validate MS-DRGs
Develop compliant physician queries
Improve Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality (ROM) capture
Collaborate with physicians, coders, CDI, HIM, Case Management and Quality teams
Identify CC/MCC opportunities and documentation gaps
Support denial prevention and clinical validation initiatives
Educate providers regarding documentation best practices
Maintain productivity and quality standards while working remotely
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
RN, BSN, MSN, MD or Foreign Medical Graduate
Minimum 4 years of clinical nursing or physician experience
Minimum 2 years of inpatient CDI experience
Experience with DRG assignment
Experience performing physician queries
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, MS-DRGs, SOI/ROM
BSN, MSN, MD, or higher clinical degree.
CCDS, CDIP, CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
Experience with 3M CDI and coding applications.
ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Hospitalist, Case Management, Utilization Review, or CDI experience.
