Master Production Scheduler - Food ManufacturingCovington, LA | $85,000 to $90,000 per year | Full-timeA multi-plant food manufacturer headquartered in Covington, Louisiana is hiring a Master Production Scheduler. The role builds and manages integrated master production schedules across several manufacturing facilities, balancing customer demand, plant capacity, materials, inventory, and cost. It reports to the VP of Procurement and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Sales, Quality, Finance, and Logistics. The position is based in Covington, with travel to the plants as needed.ScheduleFull-time, Monday through Friday, based in Covington, LA, with travel to manufacturing facilities as needed.Compensation$85,000 to $90,000 per year.What You'll DoYou will develop and maintain short- and mid-term master production schedules across multiple plants, with a rolling 8 to 12 week view. You will turn demand forecasts, customer orders, promotions, and inventory targets into production plans the plants can run. Those plans will account for capacity, labor, equipment uptime, maintenance windows, sequencing, and changeovers.You will manage finished goods, work-in-process, and excess and obsolete inventory to protect customer service while controlling working capital. You will set safety stock targets, flag shortage and obsolescence risks, and explain the cost impact of inventory decisions, including carrying costs, write-offs, and cost of goods sold.You will identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks across facilities and build mitigation plans for material shortages, equipment downtime, labor gaps, and demand swings. You will run scenario and trade-off analysis (cost vs. service vs. utilization), including when overtime is worth it, when a backorder makes more financial sense, and where lines can be consolidated. You will maintain annual and rolling capacity models with Operations and Finance.You will support the S&OP process by aligning production plans with budget, forecast accuracy, and seasonal and promotional demand. You will work with Procurement to keep raw materials and packaging on hand without expediting, and give Sales and Customer Service clear visibility into lead times and constraints. You will also align schedules with food safety and quality requirements, including HACCP.You will track and report KPIs, including schedule accuracy and adherence, production attainment, on-time-in-full delivery, material shortages, capacity utilization, changeover efficiency, and inventory turns. You will report risks, trends, and root causes to plant and senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, inventory turns, and throughput.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chainExperience managing production schedules across multiple manufacturing sitesStrong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems and production planning toolsUnderstanding of manufacturing cost drivers, such as labor, utilization, changeovers, yield, and scrapAdvanced Excel and data analysis skillsWillingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as neededPreferred QualificationsASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP), or CSCMP SCProFood, beverage, or CPG manufacturing experienceExperience in FDA-regulated and HACCP-based environmentsS&OP process experienceLean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experienceCompensation and Benefits$85,000 to $90,000 base salaryMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid time off and paid holidaysTo apply, submit your resume for consideration.
